Why the Numbers Are Approximate

Several tools depend on figures that differ from one product and person to the next:

• Ink consumptionvaries with nib width, ink wetness, paper, handwriting size, and how much you write per page — so page-count and dry-time estimates are indicative.
• Nib line widthsare not standardised between makers; a “Medium” from one brand can be finer than another’s “Fine.” Our converter uses typical Western and Japanese values.
• Balance and weight depend on your exact pen and how you measure it; enter your own figures for the most useful comparison.
